The calculator subtracts the job's labor, materials, disposal, travel, equipment, and allocated overhead from the customer price. It then divides the remaining profit by revenue to show gross margin. Use fully burdened labor—including payroll taxes and workers compensation where applicable—rather than the employee's hourly wage alone.
